Online CDX
From MonkeyFilter Wiki
This page is the online cousin of the official (offline) MoFi CDX, mainly containing the contributions from mofirc regulars. The online CDX is open to all monkeys, not just members of the official CDX groups or regulars of mofirc.

A few requests
- If you download any of our mixes, please also contribute a mix of your own design to share with us!
- Please submit reviews for our swap participants!
The FAQ has sharing and reviewing instructions. The "info and reviews" pages have additional information, such as a tracklist or CD cover art, to allow you to preview what you're about to download. They also contain reviews of the mix submitted by other participants (and guests to this wiki).

Please note that the names are sorted alphabetically, not in the order of contribution date, and most certainly not in the order of quality, listenability, or popularity.
January 2008
I guess we need a theme or something. Suggestions? How's about we all just be ourselves with our mixes?

FAQ
How do I contribute a mix?
There are three stages to the process. Stage 1 is about constructing the mix.
- Gather the mp3s of the songs for your mix. If you like, make a printable cover (in, perhaps, .jpg format). Make a tracklist.txt file; this is important, so we know what order you want your songs to go in!
- Zip up your mp3s, tracklist file, and optional cover pictures into one bundle.
For stage 2, you have to figure out how to let people download your mix. If you don't have a website with plenty of bandwith, you'll need to place it in a file transfer warehouse. We recommend YouSendIt.com because we've had success with it before. If you do have your own website, put your mix there and skip the following two steps.
- Upload your zipped mix to YouSendIt.com. Use your own email address as the "send to" address. The upload process might take a while; be patient.
- When it is done uploading, retrieve the download link that YouSendIt provides you with. (This link will expire in 7 days and allows a limited number of downloads.)
In the final stage 3, you should link your download URL to the required list above.
- Click on the "edit" link in the section corresponding to the mix you're participating in. Follow the formatting of the other links in the list when adding your link, and hit preview to check to make sure you have formatted it correctly before saving the page changes. If you have any problems, just ask someone on
#mofircto help you out! - Once you have added your mix download link, someone will try to provide a protected mirror of your mix. This is mainly because the YouSendIt links have download limits and eventually expire.
- Provide your tracklist and anything else relevant to your mix on your Reviews page under the "Info" section. Again, you can ask someone on #mofirc to help you out.
Happy mixing!
How do I write a review?
Is this some sort of contest?
Of course. The least popular two mixers every month are ritually smothered in kitten love and forced to share a huge banana split. This ain't all fun and games.
