Personal projects
From MonkeyFilter Wiki
Link to your personal projects here. Here's what I said in my blog[1] a while back:
Let's talk about what MoFiProJo could entail: I was thinking self-links to specific projects or downloads or anything in particular that you've been working on and would like to show off (a Flash animation or piece of music, whatever), and requests for help/feedback on things like the above.
Ideally this is to be used restaurant supplies sparingly, not for something as bland as your latest weight loss pills blog entry. Flash animations, music, translations, poetry, web-based projects in general could go here. Likewise, if you're looking for help for a project for whatever reason, post it here too. Respect other bankers life people's projects and keep the critiquing friendly and helpful.
If you want email responses, you may choose to ask Spotsylvania reckless driving members to get your email from your MoFi profile. Put your newest entry at the top on this page, not the bottom, and there will never be more than around thirty projects listed on the page at a time. Sign your entry with four tildes (~), separate entries with a horizontal line. Older entries will be archived.
We now have a new wiki section for this: Projects by Monkeys
The Rain Expedition EP, by Phantom West (chimaera)
The Rain Expedition EP is a super-single coming out in advance of Aleph Null, the followup to Chimaera. Featuring remixes from The Operative, Tonikom, Vaclav, Hazing Ritual, Manufactura, Vuxnut, Sys Ex, Cacophony, and Caustic, this EP shows the moodier end of my tracks reinterpreted by mainly noize/industrial bands and DJs from across the country. The Rain Expedition EP is coming out 12 December from Sistinas Music and ANODE Music.
Please consider buying a copy or two!

Memory is Not a Static Medium
The Intersection of Art and Science
Half online portfolio, half web installation piece. The site documents my work in painting, drawing, and animation - all of which deals with the problem of representing memory in visual media. I'm trying to find a way of showing memory that parallels psychological/scientific understanding of memory, but at the same time still feels like memory. Those of you who find artist's websites with experimental interfaces annoying will probably be frustrated, but my intention is not to be obtuse. It's merely an attempt to merge form and content.

British Invasion MP3 Blog
I've started an MP3 blog that features classic British Invasion tracks and the American Soul and R&B tracks that inspired them, as well as providing information on the major performers and songs of the period. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Short Feeeeeelm!
I will be participating in the 48 Hour Film Project this weekend. Blogging the whole thing over at my place. Takes place this weekend, so there'll be fresh posts up late every night/early the next morning. Also, I do this totally funny thing where I pretend Karl Rove is a confidential source. Check it out, it's funny!

Scartol makes stuff
I like making music on the computer. Some of it is breaks, some is hip-hop, and some is collage/culture-jam.
I also turn out animation from time to time. Don't miss Fred's Escape and Fred II. Also popular are music videos for Yo, Baby! (Turntablerocker) and This is Your Life (from the Fight Club soundtrack). Also there's the GI Joe remix remixes.
Then there's 3D go art, photography, and written stuff like stories and research. Enjoy. I love to get feedback. -- scartol
Garden photoblog & a new blind dog blog
[2] is the beginning of a photoset I'm doing documenting my gardens. It's really just starting but it's going to continue through the growing season & I wanted to invite everyone to drop by now & then & watch the gardens grow.
[3] is a new blog I started about (wait for it) my new blind dog. Cannot guarantee that it will be interesting but it's keeping me busy & I hope to turn it into a book eventually.

Invisible Castle
www.invisiblecastle.com is a gaming support website. Primarily for Play-by-post games. It allows people to roll dice using anything from simple notation "4d6" to advanced notation "10d100.takeHighest(10)". It then stores the rolls by character name, so that others can verify the rolls.

WORDPOWERS.COM
Since tracicle hasn't been enthusiastic about hosting the acronym game Most Obvious New Kids Exercise Yet, I've set up another place where we can play: WORDPOWERS.COM, using WordPress blogging software. As of 16 May 2005, I have some work to do on formatting, and some other customization ideas I have no idea how to impliment, but all Monkeys are invited to play in my yard, and we'll take a little bandwidth pressure off the MoFi...

Armageddon or NOT?
Since the beginning of time, humanity has looked forward to the end of the world. There have been many times when many believed that the end was near, but never before has it been as near as it is right now. But how can we tell the difference between real Signs of the Apocalypse and profitable false prophesies? Now, thanks to the modern technological wonders known as the Internets, we can vote on them! www.goaste.cx
- goaste.cx A little web magazine, full of comic strips, animations, music, computer games, and some stories and tv scripts. It updates whenever I get round to it (usually a couple of times a week)
dng
- goaste now contains a couple of interviews - Steve Aylett and Peter McConnell have bothe been kind enough to speak to us, recently
- that's really interesting, dng - are you creating all the content, or is it a collaboration? (I thought I saw several names, but sometimes (as with the animated gifs) they went quickly. - jb
- its a collaboration - the credits page lists everyone involved, and what they've done. I mainly just put it all together - dng
Music
chimaera the album is complete. Probably best described as dark blue instrumental music, this album was described by a fellow Mofite as probably something you shouldn't fall asleep listening to, and I can't think of a more resounding complement.
Released May 2, you can now order at ANODE Music. Click on the page for samples from the album, and to order! You can pay via Paypal, Cash or Check. Cash/Check payments can be sent to the PO box listed on the main page. song samples
... and for those of you who are curious, I got my username from the album name. I've been working on these songs (and songs already slated for the next 2 albums) for a while, and came up with the album name a few weeks before joining Mofi.
Chimaera 23:42, 29 Apr 2005 (EDT)
- Updated by Chimaera 00:54, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
- Hey chimaera, I just got the album a couple days ago and had a chance to listen to it last night. Great stuff! By all means keep pursuing music, I like your style. Genial
- Glad you like it! :-) -- Chimaera 23:25, 12 Jul 2005 (EDT)
- Yeah, interesting work. Reminds me of Ipecac Loop.. -- scartol
- Ipecac Loop sounds pretty neat. I think I'll have to put it on my to-buy list. Chimaera 23:25, 12 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Photographs: The Charlotte Project
of a diurnal nature of sorts.
Instigated by/to be blamed on Mofi's Dreadnought,
The Charlotte Project is a series of photo galleries, in which several graduate students (who else has the time to waste?) document one day each of their lives, with a cheap little camera named "Charlotte". It is amusing, and there are more days to come, albeit perhaps irregularly. (In case you are wondring, they all live in Cambridge, UK). -- jb
Paintings
Please feel free to look at some paintings I've been working on, with a view to selling. A mix of oils and acrylics etc. I will take commissions if anybody wants a variation on a theme. Email in my Monkeyfilter profile.
I'm also now doing T-shirts...
I don't have a website, so apologies for the flickr page. It does mean, however, that you'll also get to see my beautiful cats.

- Oh thats some nice work kitfisto! - quidnunc
- I am so loving "Trooper". It makes me feel kind of funny inside. --Kimberly
- Wow, great stuff kitfisto. If I had money, I'd be buying some! - Koko
- I really liked the RPG Miffy. I always knew she had a bad-ass streak in her. - Capt. Renault
- Nice addition of the Ts. I'd actually scanned 'Handsome Devil' to make myself a contraband T with your painting on it, but not knowing where to go from there, it never got made. Given that there'd been so many copyright infringements involved with the painting itself, I figured me bootlegging the image wouldn't be a problem. Think of it as flattery. Not theft, flattery. -- Capt. Renault.
- Hey, nice shirt. Thanks, Kitfisto! - Cali
- Hey, back off Capt! As every fule kno, a work of art can rip off what it likes, anything else and we're going mano a mano...oh, wait, that might be a bit difficult, it could all get a bit 'end of Fight Club'...
- We told you not to talk about Fight Club. - Capt. R.
