As a matter of style, I request that all commentary and sub-links made to the main links be added as items in a sublist by prefixing them with "**"; there are a few examples in the listing right now. -- User:pmdboi

Regular cleanups

I suggest someone or several someones spend some time checking links, tidying up bad ones and removing defunct sites from the list -- keep it current for as long as possible. --tracicle 22:01, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Holy crap

There's almost too much to digest here.

I suddenly get the point of this whole internet thing you kids are so hot in the pants for. <br> Thank you! --The quidnunc kid 05:41, 10 May 2005 (EDT)

Forksy's list got BoingBoinged!

check it out! (although it's to his blog post) yay for forksclovetofu! -prismatic7 23:35, 11 May 2005 (EDT)

"Blog" criteria?

I've noticed quite a few listings that are clearly not blogs -- no periodical posts, no comments, no archives, no RSS, no podcast feed... Should we establish some sort of minimum criteria here to improve the signal to noise ratio? dilvie 03:32, 20 May 2005 (EDT)

Yes, I agree. For example under aggregators, Red Ferret's mp3blog page 1MillionFree is a mp3blog site directory, it does no mp3 link aggregation at all. -rickdog 12:50, 17 Oct 2005 (CST)
I'll third that. There should also be a posting-frequency requirement -- e.g., if a blog hasn't been updated in a month, it probably shouldn't be in the listings. We could probably stand to have stricter guidelines, but that seems like a good place to start. Thoughts? -Livefastdieold 01:16, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Spam Watch: A Call to Arms

While fixing some alphabetization problems in the Eclectic section, I noticed a bunch of spam, most notably from the folks at the stream search engine Tuned In Radio (who I might not have noticed, had they not linked to themselves at the very top of every single fricking section).

I only tested three of the links, but two of them were invalid/spammy: Futurism Ain't Shit redirects to some porn-related ad page; and the (twice-linked) Mp3-easy MP3 blog, amusingly enough, doesn't actually host mp3s (only links to YouTube'd music videos).

Point being, the list most likely is in need of significant clean-up. I'll do my best to remove all the garbage I can find as soon as I get a chance. I encourage you to join in on the fun.

I don't know when Mozilla plans to release Songbird, but it'd be nice if we could optimize the listings before that happens (the current beta includes a prominent link here, so the official launch will likely attract a ton of new people). -Livefastdieold 01:16, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Songbird has been released for a while... and is for the most part, 85% stable... (I'm typing this in the builtin browser of Songbird 0.2.5)Null1024 02:23, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
